Headache hangover

Wow!! Twice in a day. Well, somewhere in my youth or childhood, I must have done something good. Cause nothing comes from nothing. Nothing ever could. So somewhere in my youth or childhood, I must have done something good.

Happy birthday Yadnesh! Have a nice life, for you and more importantly for the sake of your parents. They want nothing but pure happiness and independence for you. Just that. The very basics and the most essential ingredients, the foundations of all things good and peaceful. Also the wish of a troubled mother, the right to take your own decisions and the courage to follow them through, that’s what she wants and expects of her daughter. Seemingly non-layered and yet, one of the most difficult of qualities to achieve.

Putting pen to paper is the best way to communicate via the written word, you said. I too believe in it. You tend to invest more of yourself in that manner. Maybe, because the effort taken is more, you tend to ponder more and articulate in the most precise way possible. Your fingers don’t just fly off on a keypad keying in feverish, frivolous thoughts and connections that may not stand the ups and downs of emotions and relationships. They pass away from over the horizon like the thunderous clouds or the whiff of the fresh morning coriander being delivered from the trucks on to the dadar sabji mandi. Some good. Some bad. But transitory, thereby making them all the same. And yet, you find me here.

The closure of a library for holidays sounds so contradictory. If nothing else, the library should mandatorily remain open in the holidays. When you have time, you should have books. Otherwise, who accompanies you when the clock ticks by ever so slowly, without routine, without purpose, without handle. The stories desert you and you are left alone, with the sluggish sand in the sand clock freezing over time, imagination and life.
