Caution to the winds
I throw it all away, the caution,
the deliberation, the pre-meditated response. Instead, I adopt the un-paused
reaction, the spontaneous emotion and the extempore dance routines. It’s
probably the method versus the un-practiced natural act. The latter does not
always outshine the others…actually, on most occasions; it fails to be a bang
on. It may not hit the right chords outside of you. But what does it do to your
insides. Liberates you, at many levels and even surprises about your own inner
spectrum, depth or lack of it. Yes, you strip yourself bare to the winds and
weather. The method way is safer…you rehearse in front of the mirror till you
get it right…and then, you step into the spotlight..ready, make-upped and
armoured…shielded from the world and the reality of the responses you will
elicit. Yup, I know. It’s a banal question…of the choice one should make…but
then, I throw it all away, the caution, the deliberation, the pre-meditated
response…to the winds…and the wind…carries it away, far away from me.
